Where has the year gone??
Allow me to quote from my last post (which was posted on January 2, 2004) -- "So 2004 is gonna be better". A few days after that post, I was admitted to the hospital again. I emerged 3-1/2 weeks later.
What was I thinking? I guess I was trying to be an optimist. It's now May... May is more than half-way over. I feel like I've lost half of a year. I can't keep track of what day it is or what month it is. It still feels like January in my head. But nature convinces me otherwise with blooming flowers, budding trees, and ever-climbing temperatures. Oh, and the birdies have come home.
Michael tore down the nest that they have been using for about two years. He was tired of it. I liked it because it reminded me of spring, but it did start to stink a little bit. They came back even though their home was gone. They rebuilt it. It's a little smaller this year... maybe they were running behind.
My day was brightened when I walked outside, looked up, and I saw three or four little beaks sticking up. There are probably five or six of them in there, but the weakest ones end up at the bottom. I love those little surprises.
I haven't made blogging a compulsory event for me. If I feel like it, I'll write. I'll shoot for writing on Memorial Day -- or maybe Flag Day.
Have a great weekend!
